Some of my favourite hardware review sites

  • Toms Hardware Guide - no list is complete without it, and despite their arrogant style they are often first to review any new component. They also sometimes get things right, like understanding the difference between Intel HT and real SMP. In other cases, they sadly get it wrong again.
  • AnandTech - a very nice, very complete site with many brilliant reviews.
  • HardOCP - some of the best reviews around on this site. In particular they are very complete in that they often test bundled extras, such as RAID controllers on motherboards, where other sites just mention them. Notably, this is not just an overclocking web-site!
  • TechReport - Brilliant reviews. These guys know their stuff. If you read only one review site, read this one!

There are many more, but these are very good and should get you started.
