Upcoming Parties

28-03-2010: Ubuntu Global Jam

Venue: Shuttleworth Lab, UCT Computer Science Building
Time: 10am - 5pm

A get together to learn how to help out with Ubuntu development. The next Ubuntu release is coming out soon. This is a chance to test it and make sure it *will* work for you when released:

  • Translation of packages (into Afrikaans, Xhosa, or your favourite African language. Even translations for UK English are needed.)
  • Bugs: finding, triaging and possibly fixing.
  • Test Lucid beta live CD on your laptop, or even test upgrading (it'll be pretty close to the final version). There'll be lots of Ubuntu experts around to work through problems.
  • If you feel like it, help out with routine Freedom Toaster & Shuttleworth Lab maintenance.
